Once in a lifetime chance | Clevedon Newborn Photographer

“Do I need newborn photography?”

This is the first question that each client asks themselves, and the answer is YES!

In years to come your child will no longer need the expensive pram that you bought, nor will they require the cot or the high chair. So what will remain to remind you of that time? Photographs.

Time flies when you’re having fun, but even more so when you’re in love. Specifically, brand new, overwhelming, unconditional love that consumes your life and all that you are.

Those first weeks with your baby are so precious and so fleeting. Within days they start to change. Their fresh face starts to evolve, showing you more and more of who they are to become. They start to stretch out their bodies, exploring this whole new world and become more alert by the day.

This is why newborn photography is so important. We often don’t appreciate a photograph until it’s all we have left. Photos act as a permanent reminder of the amazing journey that your family has come on. In years to come you’ll be able to sit down with your family and look back through your memories, and there is nothing more valuable than being able to show your child just how much they are loved and have been loved, right from the beginning.

During those first weeks, you’re also the most exhausted you’ve ever been. It’s so easy to forget to take the time to appreciate this stage of their lives.  My newborn sessions allow you to have that previous time to sit back, relax and just appreciate the amazing little human you have created. It’s also an opportunity for new mamas to receive photos where they feel and look amazing, quite often for the first time after having their little one. I photograph postpartum mamas so often that I know all of the best angles and lighting to create images that you will love, even if you’re not feeling your best.

The final reason why you need newborn photography is regret. This one breaks my heart! I hear far too often from mama’s with older babies that they regret never having newborn photos done. Their babies have grown so fast, faster than they expected, and all they have to remember it is a couple of blurry photos on their phone. After all, this is a once in a lifetime chance that you’ll never get back.

If you’re thinking about newborn photography and would like some more information, please get in touch as I would love to chat through the options with you. It’s ideal to book your newborn session whilst you’re still pregnant to allow me to accommodate your due date in my diary. However if you’ve already had your baby, do get in touch as I may have some last minute availability.
