I usually only post highlights from each of my shoots, so I wanted to show you a full session from start to finish. Myla’s lovely parents brought her to the studio at 12 days old, accompanied by her super proud big brother, and I’m really excited to share her session with you!
Each of my sessions start with baby wearing a simple white onesie. Whether they arrive awake or asleep, I do not mind! There is no pressure on them to respond to me in a certain way. Only having to take off their top layer of clothing allows us to begin straight away (unless they’d like a feed first) and doesn’t disturb your little one if they’ve fallen asleep in the car.
My newborn sessions are very relaxed and totally based around your baby’s needs. I use baby-led posing which means that I respond to your little one’s movements and the way that they would like to curl up, rather than forcing them into positions that they may find uncomfortable. As a result I’m able to capture them just as they are. The photos will be a true reflection of the way that they sleep at home, grab onto your little finger and snuggle close into your chest.
Or in Myla’s case – a chance to capture her gorgeous little personality!!

Capturing sibling photos is always so much fun! Parents always say “he won’t stay still, I’m not sure what we’ll get!” But FEAR NOT! I am here to become your child’s best friend and we will get some amazing shots without them having to stay still!

As I respond to each individual baby, every session is completely different and I adjust my workflow accordingly. Some babies may love being led on their front, others not so much. I keep everything as natural as possible so that we really capture them as they are. If there’s a cute position they love being curled up in, I’ll capture it. If they prefer to be stretched out and wriggling around, that’s absolutely fine too!
I always encourage parents to get in photos too. You may not feel amazing right now, but it’s so important for you to be present in your child’s early memories.

If you have younger siblings coming along, we often do your family photos first while your little one is excited and focused on the photoshoot. This means they can then chill out, head to the duck pond with Dad or be collected by Grandma – leaving you to relax and enjoy the experience!
