For those who have booked, this blog is for you!

I am so happy that you have trusted me to capture your gorgeous family. I am hugely passionate about what I do and fully understand the importance of treasuring these timeless memories. I promise, you’re in safe hands!

Your shoot is booked, but what do you now? Don’t worry, I have done all of the prep work for you so you can just relax and enjoy the experience.

What to wear

This is SUPER important – it’s the difference between a good and a GREAT shoot! I will email/post you a styling guide with all the outfit details.

For mamas, I have a range of dresses and other items of clothing that you are very welcome to borrow during your session. Please have a look what’s available here: https://sunlightportraitstudio.co.uk/sunlight-wardrobe. I am only a text/email away if you need any helping with clothing options.

What to bring

All the essentials, water, snacks and anything else you need to get you through your session. For newborns, please bring more nappies and milk than you normally would. For older babies, only bring toys that you’re happy to feature in your images, or that can be held behind my head to make them laugh!

Prepare to be present

There are very few times in life when we are completely switched off from the outside world and totally present with our children – make this time one of those. Take this time to breathe them in, enjoy them, be present, and remember why you’re doing this. You’re preserving memories, making your kids feel loved and adored. No expectations, no worries about the end result, pick your outfits and just turn up – I’ll handle the rest.

Be up for doing silly things, playing games and having fun. The best sessions are the ones where mum and dad get involved, creating all those natural giggles that we love.

Small children

I always get asked “how do we make our kids behave?” and the answer is, I don’t expect them to! I don’t expect them to sit still either. Running around and playing games is my thing! I’m here to tailor the session to their individual personalities, engage their attention and create natural photos with no stress, so don’t be afraid to relax with them and go with the flow.

Where to go

If your shoot is in the studio, here is all the information you need. If your shoot is outside, I will contact you with all the details of where to go.

Sunlight Studio
Studio 4A
Clevedon Craft Centre
Moor Lane
Clevedon
BS21 6TD

When you arrive, you can drive into the Craft Centre (past the bit that says residents only) and park in the car park (not directly outside my studio). My studio is at the back of the buildings, past the Mosaic shop. Feel free to arrive no more than 5 minutes earlier for your session. If you’re going to be late, please just drop me a text or message on social media – I will send you my phone number before your shoot.

What happens next?

Usually I offer viewing sessions in person, however during this time all galleries will be viewed online as an extra precaution to keep us all safe.

Around three weeks after your shoot, I will send your images over via an online gallery for you to select which ones you would like. This gallery will be open for 48 hours to select your chosen images.

I can’t wait to see you and capture some timeless memories for your family. If you have any questions before the big day, please get in touch.
